Teaching Non‐Binary German Language in the Czech Republic
Original language description
This article first presents and compares the social, legal, and linguistic situation with a focus on non‐binary gender identities in German‐speaking countries and in the Czech Republic. From this discrepancy arise current challenges for contemporary teachers of German in the Czech Republic. The article selects some areas of vocabulary and grammatical phenomena that are suitable for thematizing non‐binary identities and their linguistic representation. The article also highlights appropriate and up‐to‐date methods of conveying this topic in the classroom.
