Kinematic analysis of forward stroke at wild water kayak paddling
Original language description
Our study deals with the application of 3D videography for the analysis of forward stroke by kayak paddlers (n = 11; 6 men, 5 women), active in wild water canoeing. A record of one double stroke was taken in canoeing on flat waters which is also an integral part in the training of the Czech representatives. General parameters were determined with utilisation of the APAS system that allowed us to quantify motion of the upper limbs, paddle and kayak. For comparison of racers, we used numeral characteristics, the comparison by graphic representation proved advantageous. Based on a record of motion of the right and left wrist (paddle hold), differences were found among kayak paddlers at various efficiency levels in the symmetry of performance of double stroke, in the extent of motion and speed of its realisation. By means of these time-lapses it is also possible to characterise differences in the method of stroke execution when using various types of paddles (conventional vs drop-shaped le
