The velocity of soccer kicking and the laterality of the lower extremities
Original language description
The laterality of the lower extremities is a very important factor influencing the efficiency of soccer players [1]. The main purpose of this research is to focus on the study of differences in the maximum velocity of the soccer ball kicked with the preferred and non-preferred leg and the kinematic variables of the kick. The kinematic analysis (3D, 50 Hz, system APAS) of the kick using the preferred and non-preferred leg was applied to a set of 12 skilled soccer players (age: 15.75 # 0.45 years, body weight: 69.5 # 7.59 kg, body height: 177.73 # 5.82 cm). The execution of the kick was described in addition to the velocity of the ball (preferred leg: 27.68 # 1.32 m.s 1, non-preferred leg: 23.49 # 2.05 m.s-1) using 26 measured variables and 13 symmetry indices. Non-parametric statistical methods (STATGRAPHICS, version 5.0) were used. The results confirmed differences in the execution of the kick using the preferred and non-preferred leg and different levels of the relationships between m
