Existing endeavours for the purpose of giving a name to the branch connecting philosophical views with human intentional movement activities remain at the internationally accepted term, "philosophy of sport", respectively at the term, "philosophy of physical culture" which is the accepted view of a minority. It is, however, really certain that the further specification of this young subject requires deeper thinking about the suitability of the name itself. From this point of view, not only common usage,but contents and semantic accuracy testify to the value of a designation.If we make the human being the central point of our consideration, rather than physical culture, sport, movement or other phenomena of intentional movement activity, then we have not got any other approach with which to anchor our subject into the anthropological framework. Dosavadní snahy o pojmenování oboru propojujícího filosofické náhledy se záměrnou pohybovou činností člověka zůstávají u mezinárodně akceptovaného "filosofie sportu", resp. menšinově vnímaného "filosofie tělesné kultury". Je však zcela jisté, že přesnější specifikace dosud mladého oboru vyžaduje hlubší zamyšlení i nad vhodností jeho pojmenování. Z tohoto hlediska pak nejenom obvyklý úzus, ale především obsahová a sémantická přesnost vypovídá o hodnotě názvu. Pokud centrálním bodem našich úvah neučinímetělesnou kulturu, sport, pohyb či jiný fenomén záměrné pohybové činnosti, ale člověka samotného, pak nám nezbývá jiný přístup než zakotvit náš obor v antropologickém rámci. Více oborů, jež se na antropologickém zkoumání podílejí, je možno ve filosofii zúžit do otázky "co je člověk?" a tedy do široce akceptovaného oboru "filosofická antropologie".
