The Numeric Music Composition in New Media Design

For over a decade I have been working in the design of systems and tools for the music composition based on the Fibonacci and Lucas Sequence and the Mayan and Aztec numerical systems, which I have successfully used to write music for different kinds of ensembles and media over these years. In the last couple of years, this system design has been taken to the next level in a joint effort with the Janacek Academy of Music and Performing Arts – JAMU, as a postdoctoral research for the development of software and new technologies. During the COVID 19 Pandemic, I had the chance to join several online festivals in different parts of the world during the years 2020 and 2022, either as a composer, joining round tables and conferences, with the facility of connection that the situation encouraged us to enhance. This gave me the opportunity to work together with other artists who are specialized in new technologies, inspiring me to write more music with electronics than ever in my life. By the end of the year 2021, I re – opened the possibility to work on the development of two music composition software based on my two major researches at the Music Faculty of the Janacek Academy of Music and Performing Arts JAMU: a) “Lucas Fn” - Based on my research “Different applications of the Fibonacci and Lucas Sequences to the Music Composition”. b) “Haab – Jun” - Based on my research “Mathematical operations in musical composition - with a focus on historical apparatus of the Central American region”.
