Original language description
The aim of the article is to identify optimal mix of macroeconomic policy for economies in transition that are hit by financial crisis. Most of the economies under transition were during 90s under the pressure due to turbulences (speculative attacks) atFX markets and huge outflow of capital. Authors analyse and compare causes, solutions and results of financial crises in South Korea and the Czech Republic during 1997. Even the kind of the shock and reaction of national authorities were similar, the results were different. South Korea economy recovers very quickly, in the Czech Republic the crisis was followed by three years recession. The aim of the authors is to identify macroeconomic data and concrete provisions towards banking sector in both countries. Also the reaction of business sector is taken to consideration. The results are then used to draw general conclusions in terms of recommendation for policy makers in case of financial crises.
