ECONOMIC PERFORMANCE OF EUROPEAN UNION: TRENDS AND POLICIES November 22-23, 2007 Mendel University, Brno, Czech Republic The conference will explore the economic performance of the EU, the underlying trends and economic policies. Emphasis will be on therecent experiences and the functioning of the European Economic and Monetary Union. Following fields will be discussed: Future of EMU Impact of Ageing Fiscal policies within EMU New member states and EMU Labor markets Does EMU converge or diverge? EU inthe globalized economy of 21st century Format of the Conference: The language of the conference is English. 10 to 12 chosen papers will be presented in 5-6 sessions. Each presentation will be discussed. Text of papers and discussion contributions will bepublished in the form of monograph by the international publisher. Conference will take place on the premises of the Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic. For the contributing participants, rooms will be reserved in Brno
