Every single day there are numbers of users searching in emails, documents, books, web pages, even in pictures or videos. Exceptions are geodata. There is no searching engine for geodata comparable with well-known services such as Google or Yahoo! Therefore we have focused on this issue. This paper presents an approach for development of a geodata search engine based on OpenGIS Web Map Services standard. The presented search engine is providing a WMS compliant interface to different mapservers and allows to access data on them from a single map service.

Každý den prohledává velké množství uživatelů své emaily, dokumenty, knihy, webové stránky a dokonce i videa nebo fotografie. Vy jímkou jsou geodata. V současné době neexistuje služba pro vyhledávání geodat, kterou by bylo možné srovnat s známými službami jako je Google nebo Yahoo!. Z tohoto důvodu jsme se na tento problém zaměřili. Tento článek prezentuje službu pro vyhledávání geodat založenou na standardu OpenGIS Web Map Service. Prezentovaný vyhledávací nástroj poskytuje rozhraní pro přístup k řaděmapových serverů, které kompatibilní s tímto standardem WMS a umožňuje tak přistupovat k řadě mapových služeb z jediného místa.
