Production planning in agriculture: Construction of resowing constraint
Original language description
The paper presents a farmer's real-life decision problem of planning the sowing design for the next period when number of operational restrictions is to be considered. In the problem there arise the standard resource constraints (e.g. on arable land andcapital) but, discussed in this contribution, also a complex constraint on permitted alternating of several crops on available land. It is shown that the decision problem is of stochastic nature, the stochastic programming model is constructed includingthe original design of the resowing constraint and the problem is solved using the real data from the agricultural cooperative farming in South Moravia. The comparison of the results obtained with the real manager's decisions is performed and the possibilities of the model application in farmer's decision making practice are discussed.
