Original language description
The purpose of the paper is to analyze Human Development in Africa with special emphasis on countries Africa south of the Saharan from the year 2000--2007. The main aim is to calculate the Human Development Index (HDI) by using the following indices obtained from individual countries; Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita, Life Expectancy at Birth (LEB), Adult Literacy Rate (ALR) and Combined Gross Enrolment Ratio in Education (CER). Data used for the analysis was taken from the Human Development Report and OECD (African Economic Outlook) for the observed period 2000--2007.
