Liquidity Flows in the Slovenian Banking Sector

  • Original language description

This paper focuses on evaluating the liquidity flows in the Slovenian banking sector using a specific liquidity risk measurement - gross flows of liquidity. Evaluated are the individual size groups as well as the banking sector as a whole. The results show that even though the banks are in the same sector, the development of their liquidity flow and total reallocation are different. The important role is played by internal characteristics of the banks and liquidity risk management. The results also shows that the overall development of the sector was given by the development of large and medium-sized banks, while a small group of banks stayed aside. These differences could cause problems in the standard set of regulatory measures.
