This conference paper assesses attainments de nos jours in the field of Ukrainian SPS legislation harmonization with EU SPS regulations. Successful institutional harmonization regarding SPS measures is critical for boosting the process of Ukrainian reforms and achieving a definitive breakthrough in integrating Ukraine as signatory country of AA/DCFTA into EU market. The conference paper focuses on a number of paramount obstacles that have been slowing down Ukrainian reforms in the area of SPS measures: lack of consistency between food safety regimes in EU and Ukraine, significant difference between Ukrainian and EU animal health regulations, existence of multiple Ukrainian regulatory bodies in the field of SPS measures. Implementation of harmonized laws concerning SPS measures still is the biggest and most indispensable challenge for Ukraine.
