The current trends in managing business relations in manufacturing

  • Original language description

The current changes or trends in the enterprise environment (such as the increasing globalization and competition, outsourcing, SCM and CRM principles, or creation of strategic alliances) have a significant influence not only on the style of business management but also on business relations and the overall competitiveness of enterprises. However, not all enterprises respond to these changes in the same way, nor do all changes have the same impact on each enterprise. The aim of this paper is to find out whether there are any differences in the perception of impacts of particular changes or trends in the enterprise environment between enterprises of different sizes (1), from different sub-sectors of the manufacturing industry (2), and with different degrees of involvement in internationalization (3). The paper is based on primary data obtained via questionnaire survey among 181 manufacturing enterprises (CZ-NACE 25-30). The differences were evaluated by the Kruskal-Wallis test and subsequent post-hoc tests. The results suggest that medium and large enterprises perceive the impact of current changes in the enterprise environment as more important than small enterprises and that the perception of changes differs between enterprises from manufacturing sub-sectors, as well as between enterprises with different degrees of involvement in foreign trade activities.
