The paper deals with risk management in agriculture. It focuses mostly on the issue of viticulture and wine production in the Czech Republic. It describes the current situation and possible solutions. One of the ways to deal with risks is to avail of insurance. That is why special attention will be paid to the agricultural insurance. Different institutions offering this kind of service in the Czech Republic will be compared and evaluated. The results are part of the project dealing with risk management in agriculture in the Czech Republic and they will be used as a starting point of information for the primary research among wine growers and companies offering insurance in the Czech Republic.
