Unlocking the Potential Under Ageing Labor Force and Digitalization Challenges
Original language description
This study examines the challenges and opportunities pushed by digitalization under the ageing labor force trend. We observe a rise in labor force participation among individuals aged 55-64 in the European Union and Ukraine, but age discrimination remains a barrier. Digitalization is reshaping the labor market, creating a demand for digital skills. However, there are disparities in digital proficiency among different age groups. Bridging the digital gap is crucial for empowering labor market. Continuous skills development and retraining initiatives are needed to address the challenges faced by older workers. Generative AI technologies can play a vital role in facilitating their adaptation. This study emphasizes the need for comprehensive support and lifelong learning for an inclusive and sustainable labor market.
