Verification of the credibility of SFA panel models using the DEA method

  • Original language description

This article focuses on comparing empirical efficiency results using two competing methods. The results of panel models estimated through stochastic frontier analysis method will be compared with the most frequently mentioned model constructed using data envelopment analysis. The results of empirical analyzes show that in cases where it is technically possible to use different model settings, not all results are of comparable quality. It was found that the choice of the appropriate distribution of inefficiency varies depending on other economic aspects of the model, such as the assumption regarding the change in the production possibility frontier.
