Hybrid seeds were obtained from female and male plants grown in alternating strips in ratio 1:1.The parental components of Czech,Slovak and French origin were chosen on the basis of morphological characteristics of individual genotypes-plant height and date of flowering.Gametocide Genesis was applied by spraying plants at the Feekes stage 8.0-9.0.The efficacy of Genesis on sterility and hybrid seed set was evaluated on four levels of treatment(0-1.6-3.6-4.9kg/ha).Using the detection method for polymorphism of prolamine proteins of wheat grain by PAGE ISTA (ČSN 460610),we found 100% efficacy of Genesis at the dose of 4.9 kg/ha. The lower doses of gametocide showed the efficacy about 50% depending on genotypic specificity. At the heading stage, pollen grains were present in anthers of plants that had been treated with the dose of 4.9 kg of Genesis per ha.
