Original language description

Results of the long-term observations of the impact of different straw management on yields of cereal crops and on parameters of the soil environment are presented. Farming systems considered involve shallow and deep straw incorporations, straw harvest,straw burning, and encouragement of the straw decomposition by preparation on the basis of molasses distillery slop. The research was based on the field trials, located on the chernozem soil within the sugar beet growing region. The framework of 6 crop rotation (pea, winter wheat, spring barley, winter rape seed, winter wheat, winter wheat) was applied in the period of 1997 -- 2003. All crops mentioned were grown every year. Positive effects of the straw burning and straw decomposition upon yields of crops in trials were proved. Higher content of soil organic carbon (SOC), and water stability of soil aggregates were found when straw was incorporated in soil.
