Original language description
A fragment of the porcine adipocyte, C1Q and collagen domain containing (ADIPOQ) gene, which encodes adiponectin, was amplified. HindIII PCR-RFLP and polymorphic microsatellite was found. Multiple-point linkage analysis was performed in the USDA-MARC backcross pedigree using CRI-MAP software package. Two point linkage analysis assigned the ADIPOQ gene to porcine chromosome 13 linked to SWR1008, SW1495 and S0068. Multipoint linkage analysis based on 53 informative meioses placed the ADIPOQ gene on the current USDA MARC linkage map at position 53.6 Kosambi cM on chromosome 13.
