Association of formation and progression of a tumour disease and level of metallothioneins

  • Original language description

A tumour disease or cancer, "plague of the world", are words, which present a threat to humans as well as a subject of investigation for broaden scientific public. The success of treatment of the disease depends on many factors such as prevention, earlyand sensitive diagnostics. That means the sooner a cancer is detected, the better the chances to treat it successfully. In the last decade, several reports disclosed metallothioneins (MTs) expression as a useful prognostic factor for tumour progression and drug resistance in a variety of malignancies e.g. leukaemia, melanoma, breast, ovarian, renal, lung, pancreatic, gall bladder, esophageal, and basal cell carcinoma. The present work reports on investigation of involving of MTs in early detection of the disease as new tumour marker.

Spojení tvorby a progrese nádorového onemocnění s úrovní metalothioneinu

  • Czech description

V této práci uvádíme shrnutí výzkumu metalothioneinů v časné detekci a diagnostice tumorových markerů.
