In small-plot experiment with potatoes was explored the effect of foliar applications of Se (200 and 400 g Se.ha-1) and applications of Se into the soil on tuber yields, the Se concentration in dried tubers and boiled tubers and in chips and effect of Seapplications on concentration of semiessential amino acids arginin and histidin in dried tubers. Varieties Ditta and Karin were used in the experiment and selenium was applied in the form of sodium selenite (Na2SeO3). 5 treatments were used in the experiment: (1) control; (2) 12 kg Se.ha-1; (3) 24 kg Se.ha-1; (4) 200 g Se.ha-1; (5) 400 g Se.ha-1. The total yields of tubers per ha were the highest in the control treatments. The variety Ditta produced higher yields. The average content of Se increased with the applied dose as compared to the control. The effect of Se applications on amino acids concentration in tubers was only in the case of His. The concentration of Arg and His was the sign of the variety.

Czech description

V maloparcelkovém pokusu s bramborami byl sledován vliv foliární aplikace Se (200 a 400g Se.ha-1) a aplikace Se do půdy (12 a 24 kg Se.ha-1) na výnos brambor, koncentraci Se v sušených a vařených hlízách a hranolcích. Dále byl sledován vliv aplikace Se na obsah semiesenciálních aminokyselin His a Arg v hlízách.
