Austrian lysimeter data meeting Czech water balance model -- Excerpt of a bilateral cooperation
Original language description
Numerous models are available for determination of water balance parameters. AVISO model is used in Czech Republic in order to process and display spatial data of the hydrological cycle. Generally, measured data, e.g. soil water content, are used for model calibration and validation. Weighing lysimeters provide another appropriate opportunity to measure water balance parameters. Due to the lack of lysimeters in Czech Republic, data from an Austrian site were used for model validation, at least on a regional scale. This was possible, because of the geographical vicinity and the similar or almost same climatic conditions of the research areas in Austria (Marchfeld) and Czechia (Moravia). First, calculated and measured evapotranspiration was compared. After that, the model soil parameters were adapted to the lysimeter characteristics in order to get the soil water content on a daily basis. Some results are shown.
