Monitoring of within field variability of crops using remote sensing
Original language description
The arable land of Czech Republic in areas with high intensity of crop production has specific traits. Large areas of cultivated fields with combination of higher variability of topographical and geological factors result in visible heterogeneity of soilcondition and crop yield. The aim of this study was to verify the possibilities of multispectral and thermal imaging to obtain an information about multi-temporal within field spatial variability of crops. An aerial survey was carried out during 2007--2011 at two fields (52 and 38 ha) in the South Moravian region with different soil and topographical conditions and various crops in this time period. The aerial sensed data were validated with the ground survey of crop parameters (LAI, nutrients concentration, and yield) and soil properties (nutrients content, measurement of soil electrical conductivity). The results of this work can be used as input information for planning of site specific crop management in precision agriculture.
