The effect of protease on apparent ileal amino acid digestibility and ileal protease activity in broilers
Original language description
The experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of addition Ronozyme ProAct, a commercial feeding supplement containing pure exogenous protease, on apparent ileal amino acid digestibility and on ileal protease activity in broilers. A total of 99 28days old males were randomly placed into 9 battery pens (11 chickens/pen) and divided into 3 treatments with 3 replicates in seven-day experiment. The basal diet was based on wheat, corn and soybean meal. The dietary treatments were a positive control, formulated with 12.5 MJ/kg and 20.7 % CP, and a negative control, formulated with a 4 % reduction in CP as compared with the positive control diets. A mono-component protease (75,000 protease/g) was added to the negative control diets at 0 (LP0) and 200 ppm(LP1) of feed. Diets contained 0.3% Cr2O3 to facilitate estimated of apparent ileal amino acid digestibility, digestibility of sum of essential and non-essential amino acids and overall apparent ileal crude protein digestibility.
