Determination of nitrate nitrogen in surface water: comparison of distilation-titration and spectrophotometric methods

  • Original language description

This work deals with comparison of two methods for determination of mineral nitrogen in surface water. The distillation-titration and spectrophotometric methods were compared. From January to September 2013, mineral nitrogen was determined by both methods in samples, which were taken from seven sites. These sites are located in CHKO Jizera Mountains. Water sampling was carried out every month (from April to August 2013). Based on the statistical analysis of results from each method, distillation-titration method is more accurate than spectrophotometric method.
