    Assessment of AdBlue Quality by Refractive Index

    The article describes possibility of using a refractometer measurement for quality control of AdBlue fluid. AdBlue is a mixture of urea and demineralized water and is used as a reductant of SCR (Selective Reduction Catalytic) system. Hence AdBlue is a fluid, which increases operating costs. For saving costs, the dilution of AdBlue by water is the common problem that can be countered in practice. The aim of this article is to find out whether statistically significant difference in refractive index is between dilution of AdBlue by normal and distilled water. Creation of a regression model that could be used for fast detection of urea concentration in the AdBlue by the refractive index measurement is another aim of this paper.
