Original language description
The desired vacuum pressure level in milking process is nowadays achieved by using rotary vane vacuum pump that is driven by squirrel-cage induction motor. The vacuum pressure regulation was until recent achieved by correctly set automatic regulation valve in the way that it sucked in the atmospheric air from the outside of the system. There was therefore big power consumption because of this type of regulation -- electromotor had to run at full power all the time. Development of frequency converters brought the possibility of power saving. Frequency converters control the electromotor so that the real performance of the vacuum pump is proportional to the air amount sucked in the system. This paper deals with correct settings of input parameters of frequency converter and describes basic values of electromotor and vacuum pump. This paper also contains flow characteristics of used vacuum pump for different speeds.
