Grain yield of spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) grown in long-term continuous culture
Original language description
This contribution is focused on the assessment of long-term effect of different methods of soil tillage, straw management and mineral fertilization on grain yields of spring barley grown in a continuous culture. Long-term experiment is conducted in maize-growing region on heavy gleicfluvisol from the year 1969. Experimentalfactors: two variants of soil tillage (conventional plough tillage to 0.22 m and shallow tillage to 0.12-0.15m), three variants of straw management (straw removed, incorporated into soil and burned) and three variants of nitrogen doses (30, 60 and 90 kg N.ha-1). The grain yieldswere evaluated for the period 1975-2014 (except for year 2006). Statistically significantly higher grain yields were achieved with conventional plough tillage to 0.22 m, straw burned and with the highest nitrogen dose, compared with other treatments.
