Mineralogy and nutrients content in selected soil types

  • Original language description

Chemical composition of clay minerals and nutrients content were studied in Chernozem, Haplic Luvisol and Cambisol. Monitoring of selected soil types was carried out in the different part of the Czech Republic. X-ray diffraction spectra were obtained on a diffractometric Philips PW3710 spectrometer under the following working conditions: CuKα radiation, 40kV, 55mA, goniometric shift 1 o. min-1, 2Θ. Semi quantitative values were calculated from individual mineral basal peaks. Total nutrients content was determined by Mehlich III method. Results showed that chemical composition of clay minerals directly affected nutrients content in soil.
