Analysis of tourism development in the South Moravian Region
Original language description
The study deals with the evaluation of the development of cultural and natural tourism in the South Moravian Region. Based on available statistical data from the CZSO (Czech Statistical Office), NIPOS (National Information and Counseling Center for Culture), AOPK (Nature and Landscape Protection Agency of the Czech Republic) on the studied area: attendance, number of overnight stays, cultural and natural tourism opportunities, the potential of the area was evaluated. According to the results of the study, tourism in the studied area has significant touristic potential, due to a considerable amount of cultural and natural heritage. It is recommended to develop public awareness of tourist destinations in the vicinity of the main tourist destinations through information platforms to allow the inflow of tourists to the surrounding municipalities. This could reduce overflow in major tourist areas and bring economic benefits to local businesses and the development of rural areas.
