Redescription of Tachyura polita polita (Coleoptera: Carabidae: Bembidiini: Tachyina), a new adventive species for Europe, and new distributional records from the southern Palaearctic and Oriental Region

  • Original language description

Tachyura (s. str.) polita polita (Motschulsky, 1852) is redescribed and figured, including male and female genitalia. This species is native to the southeastern part of the Palaearctic region and the Oriental region. In the present paper, T. polita polita is recorded for the first time in Europe based on specimens from the Czech Republic (as adventive species). In addition, it is newly recorded from Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Malaysia. The exact locality data based on which the species was listed in the Palaearctic Catalogue (Kopecký 2003, 2017) from the Chinese provinces of Fujian, Guangdong, and Guizhou are presented. The year of publication, usually given as 1851, is corrected to 1852 based on Bousquet & Davies (2021).
