Auxin and cytokinins transport in the control of apical dominance in pea plants
Original language description
The growing shoot apex is known to regulate many developmental processes in plants out of which the inhibition of axillary bud growth (apical dominance) is the most studied phenomenon. That auxin produced at the apex represses the outgrowth of lateral buds, whereas cytokinins applied to lateral buds stimulate growth and cause release from apical dominance has been known for a long time.
