The aim of studies was to determine the long-term effect of different crop rotation and different tillage systems on physical properties of soil. The trials were established in 1969 in Žabčice at the maize-growing region. Physical properties of soil under spring barley in 1994-1998 were compared at two depth, 0.05-0.10 m and 0.20-0.25 m and at two growth stages of barley: I.- at completed tillering (DC 30), II.- at grain filling (DC 69-71). From the simple average values of soil properties were calculated coefficients of variations.
