Original language description
This contribution deals with the issue of global terrorism. Text discusses definitions of terrorism, introduces the basic typologies of terrorism, and focuses on group dynamics of terrorist groups. Terrorism is based on an organized, systematic and calculated violence which is usually directed against uninvolved persons, their property, with subsequent media coverage of the attack, communication of their demands and defining goals. The fear, controlling public opinion, helps to achieve the political, religious or ideological objectives. Secondary, psychological dimensions of a terrorist act are more important than the primary effect, because the main aim is to terrorize civilians, police officers, government authorities, provoke insecurity, cause tensions and doubts and in this way distract from a responsible and reliable performance of duties and responsibilities.
