The article deals with the analysis of a questionnaire survey which was focused on tourism industry in Latin America, i.e. region that has a lot to offer to its visitors. It offers the analysis of tourism industry in individual countries and focuses on general preferences of tourists who decide about the purchase of a tour. The objective of the paper was to select parameters, which are fundamental for tourists in their choice of destination. Countries that are most relevant for visit are mentioned; general aspects that decide about travelling are discussed; and specific recommendations for improvement in analyzed countries are formulated. Finally, results of the analysis may be useful for potential tourists/clients of travel agencies, who are interested in visiting the region, as well as for travel agencies, and state institutions or governments.
