Original language description
There is a lack of microfinance institutions (MFIs) in the Czech Republic and the micro entrepreneurs tend to use consumer credit products, which is expensive, without any counselling services and with high risk of getting over indebted. The inspiration for the designing and launching the microfinance legislative could be find in other European countries with successfully developed microfinance system. However, little is known about the impact of existing European microfinance. The aim of the paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of microfinance system in job creation in the European countries by the examination of the interaction between intensity of microfinance market and the genesis of new economic activities in the particular European countries. We find that economies with higher intensity of microfinance industry create more job opportunities.
