This chapter examines two new political movements that have been successful in Czech politics since 2013 and which are linked with the figure of their leader, Tomio Okamura. These are the political party Dawn of Direct Democracy, and what is essentially its successor, the political movement Freedom and Direct Democracy (since 2015). For both entities the chapter details their foundation, organisational structure, membership, candidate selection and funding. It also describes their political programmes and their electoral performance. The role of Dawn of Direct Democracy and Freedom and Direct Democracy in the Czech political party system is then examined. The role of Tomio Okamura, his leadership style and his campaigning on social media are presented in detail. The chapter refers to findings by Czech political scientists; electoral data are adopted from the website volby.cz, run by the Czech Statistical Office (CSLJ).
