Economic Aspects of Non-Wood Producing Functions of Forests in the Czech Republic

Original language description

The paper emphasizes the importance of non-wood-producing roles of the forest as well as the importance of forestry as a supplier or raw materials from renewable resources. The analysis of problems of increasing requirements of society for forest functions identifies main causes decreasing ecological stability of forest stands and basic principles of sustainable and multifunctional forest management. Provision of financial sources for supporting management in forests in the CR is discussed. Relations are described between forest management planning and non-wood-producing roles including provision of financial compensation for fulfilling the functions.
