After an air-pollution ecological disaster in the top hill parts of the Orlické hory Mts., the existing forest was replaced by mountain pine, lodge-pole pine, Norway spruce, blue spruce,ec. Mainly new outplanting of Norway spruce reacted by luxuriant increments, reactive wood and by not mature shoots. Norway spruces were demaged by frost and heavy snow cover in winters 2001 and 2002 too.On the other hand, young stands of mountain pine indicated good prosperity. Only the older stands show decline.

Czech description
Po imisně ekologické kalamitě byly na vrcholových částech Orlických hor vysázeny různé náhradní dřeviny (borovice kleč, borovice limba, smrk ztepilý, smrk pichlavý aj.) Převážně u výsadeb smrku ztepilého (Picea abies /L./ Karst.) byl zjištěn luxuriantnípřírůst, tvorba reakčního dřeva, nevyzrálost prýtů atd. Projevuje se i poškození mrazem a vysokou sněhovou pokrývkou v letech 2001 a 2002. Na druhé straně mladé porosty kleče (Pinus mugo Turra) prosperují. Zhoršený zdravotní stav se zde projevuje až u straších exemplářů, které samy sebe zastiňují.
