The application of ecosystem`s evaluation of forests into the praxis in the Czech Republic

Forests are one of the dominant components of the natural environment with basic influence on the quality of the environment of a human population. The existing utilitarian anthropocentric conception of the relationship between man and the forest has been based on the idea that forests serve exclusively to man according to his topical demands. The new modern conception of integrated multifunctional management accepts a philosophy of the equivalent importance of all functions of the forest. There are several methods in Czech Republic of evaluation and quantification of forest functions, e. g. the method published by Seják [1], Vyskot et al [2]. The method Vyskot et al. [2] is the only one ecosystem method in the Czech Republic, which is enacted and is used by the Czech environmental inspectorate for valuation of a detriment (damage) to forest functions. Aplikace ekosystémového hodnocení lesů v praxi v České republice

Czech description

Lesy jsou jednou z dominantních složek životního prostředí a mají základní vliv na kvalitu lidského prostředí. Existující antropocentrické koncepce zabývající se vztahy mezi člověkem a lesem jsou založené na myšlence, že lesy slouží člověku v závislostina jeho potřebách. Nová moderní koncepce integrovaného polyfunkčního hospodaření přichází s myšlnkou, že všechny funkce lesa jsou si rovny. V České republice je několik metod, které se zabývají hodnocením a kvantifikací funkcí lesa, např. metoda publikovaná Sejákem, Vyskotem a kol. Metoda Vyskot a kol. je jediná ekosystémová metoda v České republice, která je uzákoněna a používaná Českou inspekci životního prostředí pro výpočet škod na funkcích lesa. Kvantifikace a hodnocení funkcí lesa je důležité prostanovení doporučeného optimalizovaného systému polyfunkčního lesního hospodaření.
