Social-recreation and sanitary-hygienic forest functions represent two groups of social forest functions which are evaluated by method Quantification and Evaluation of Forest Functions (Vyskot I. and coll. 2003). This method is based on modern ecosystemconception, which approaches forest ecosystem as a system producing effects resulting from its nature and ecosystems processes. All groups of forest functions produced by forest ecosystem are on equivalent importance, but do not have equivalent quality.There are two indexes which characterize different quality of social forest functions; Real potential of functions and Real effect of functions. Real potentials of forest functions represent quantified function potentials of real forests under optimum ecosystem conditions. They are valuated by seven grades scale, grade 0 means functionally unsuitable forest ecosystem, grade 6 means extraordinary level of function potential. Czech description

Sociálně-rekreační a zdravotně-hygienická funkce lesa představují dvě skupiny celospolečenských funkcí lesa, které byly zhodnoceny metodou Kvantifikace a hodnocení funkcí lesů (Vyskot, I. A kol. 2003). Tato metoda je založena na moderní ekosystémové koncepci, která pohlíží na lesní ekosystém jako na systém produkující účinky vyplývající z jeho podstaty a ekosystémových procesů. Všechny skupiny funkcí lesního ekosystému mají stejnou důležitost, no nemusí být stejné kvality. Rozdílná hodnota celospolečenských funkcí lesů je vyjádřena dvěma koeficienty, a to reálným potenciálem funkcí lesa a reálným efektem funkcí lesa.
