Effects of tending on the structure and production of a young beech stand
Original language description
Tending young beech stands, particularly possibility of the fast production of marketable assortments together with ensuring the high quality and quantity of production, is one of the main tasks of forest management. A prominent forest manager Indruch dealt with the problem in Forest District Vlára, the White Carpathians. Results of his studies are also instructive for the ingoing generation of foresters. The age of the studied stand is 34 years. The number of co-dominant future crop trees was 1035, that of other co-dominant trees 511 and of subdominant trees 128. In beech, mean diameter at breast height (dbh) reaches a value of 16 cm and mean height 15 m, in larch mean dbh reaches 20 cm and mean height 22 m. The stand volume reaches 229 m3 under bark(u.b.).

Czech description
Výchova mladých bukových porostů, zvláště možnost rychlého vyprodukování prodejných sortimentů spolu se zabezpečením vysoké kvality a kvantity produkce je jedním z hlavních úkolů lesního hospodáře. Na LS Vlára v Bílých Karpatech se tímto postupem zabývallesní hospodář ing. Indruch a jeho výsledky jsou poučné i pro nastupující generaci lesníků. Věk sledovaného porostu je 34 let. Počet nadějných jedinců v úrovni dosahuje počtu 1035 kusů, ostatních jedinců v úrovni 511, v podúrovni 128. U buku dosahuje střední tloušťka hodnoty 16 cm, střední výška 15 m, u modřínu střední tloušťka 20 cm, střední výška 22 m. Objem porostu dosahuje 229 m3 bez kůry.
