Small architecture for recreation use on forest roads
Original language description
The paper is focused on placing and the life span of building constructions, which are used for increasing the attractiveness of recreation in the forest. Tourists and biker-tourists appreciate the dense network of good-marked forest roads completed by information boards about history and nature beauties of the area. They welcome also a number of attractive places such as wells, monuments and suitably arranged vistas of landscape and other interesting things, which can serve as goals of tourist use. Benches, resting places, shelters or bowers are essential parts of these areas. It is necessary to design these simple buildings from natural materials. Their construction should be stable the longest life span to be achieved with minimum costs. Wood and stone are the most suitable as well as most natural materials. In wooden constructions, sufficient protection of wood shows substantial effect on the structure durability.
