Specification of precipitation inputs for the water balance of spruce stands in lower altitudinal vegetation zones
Original language description
One of limiting factors for the ecological stability of spruce forests in lower forest altitudinal vegetation zones (FAVZ 3 -- 6) is a sufficient amount of precipitation, which is as a rule measured by devices designed for vertical precipitation. In addition to the vertical component of the falling precipitation (rain, drizzle, snow) there is also a so called atmospheric precipitation deposition developing on assimilatory organs and on tree branches (atmospheric aerosol creating fog and low cloudiness, inducing dampness -- hard rime in winter), which is referred to by non-experts as horizontal precipitation. In currently used psychrometers, the deposited precipitation can be intercepted at a negligible and closer undefined amount. Thus, the amount of vertical precipitation can be significantly underestimated in the assessment of spruce forest moisture balance. Conversely, an incorrect interception value may result in the overestimated total amount of vertical precipitation. The aim of t
