The occurrence of Bicolored Shrew (Crocidura leucodon, Soricomorpha: Soricidae) in plantings of forest trees in southern Moravia (Czech Republic)
Original language description
In 2007, within the study of small mammals of plantings of forest trees in floodplain forests of southern Moravia, the rather considerable number of individuals of white-toothed shrew (Crocidura leucodon) was caught. The population created a dominant oreven eudominant component within the local community of small mammals. From the point of view of regularly low subrecedent occurrence in communities, it is an unusual phenomenon. Thus, its occurrence in plantings extends information on the spectrum of biotopes colonized by this species.
