Stakeholders' attitudes to the Czech National Forest Programme process
Original language description
The Czech NFP movement has its roots in 1993 when a non-governmental organisation of forest experts -- the 'National Forestry Committee' -- was established, aiming at supporting the NFP as an instrument to promote sustainable forest management in the Czech Republic. In 1995, the National Forestry Committee introduced the first draft of the Czech NFP and called the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Environment for a co-operation on its further development. However, an interministerial co-operation on the programme began first in 2000, as the government commissioned both ministries with the NPF elaboration. Since that time, the government has approved two documents: the National Forest Programme of the Czech Republic (NFP I) in 2003 and the National Forest Programme for the Period until 2013 (NFP II) in 2008.
