Distribution of wireworms of click beetles (Coleoptera, Elateridae) in the soil of forest ecosystems of the Kienhaida reserve (Ore Mountain)
Original language description
In the soil of forest stands of the Bučina Nature Reserve at Kienhaida (Ore Mountains, Czech Republic), 21 species were caught of wireworms (Elateridae) with the eudominant position of carnivorous and saprophagous Athous subfuscus (71.09%) and carnivorous Dalopius marginatus (14.53%). Beech and spruce stands are characterized by low diversity and increased abundance. Mounds of soil showed the highest species diversity (1.87) and the lowest abundance (24 pcs.m-2) of the wireworms of elaterids. Sites between mounds are characterized by low abundance and average diversity of elaterids. Through pushing the mounds aside the abundance did not change because A. subfuscus responded positively. Ctenicera cuprea remained without response but species diversity markedly decreased (0.98). The highest abundance of wireworms (59.33 pcs.m-2) was at a site with soil preparation using an excavator. The degree of weed infestation showed a decisive effect on the density and species diversity of larvae of
