Interactions between UV lacquers and wood
Original language description
The interactions between coating materials and wood significantly influence the quality of wood surface treatment and, consequently, the quality of the end products. The modern ecological trends prefer using coating materials with reduced volatile organic compound (VOC) content, such as UV cured coatings. The aims of this work were to study the interactions between beech wood and two types of UV lacquers in liquid and solid phase through their thermodynamical characteristics and to compare the results obtained experimentally with the actual condition at the interface lacquer-wood.
