Original language description
The paper presents characterization, technical parameters and application range of middle class logging machines (harvesters and forwarders) in forestry. Conceptual bases and characterization of structural properties of the prototypes of new Czech-made middle class logging machines (harvester with a felling level of up to 42 cm, forwarder with a carrying capacity of up to 7 tons) have been elaborated. Measurement results of technical (esp. energy needs of machine travels and working mechanisms), ergonomic and technological parameters have been carried out. Comparison has been made between theoretically determined and actually achieved performance balance of drive units in forwarders. The paper also presents results of harvester testing with the application of a standard principle of felling and processing of individual trees and a principle of so-called accumulative (group) felling.
