Forest site type classification of the protected areas of Tusheti region
Original language description
Geobiocenoses is a whole that is made up of biota and abiotic environment. The biota includes phyto-and zoocoenosis. Units, which have been established within geobiocoenological system or the forest site classification system, could also be used for the study of animal. Forestry site classification is a basic discipline for forest management that classifies permanent ecological conditions. Understanding of terms, units and terminology in forest site typology is unsettled, often naming of system and final works are inconsistent and ambiguous, very often are used the outdated names. The tool of forest site classification is a Forest site classification system. That is used for classifying permanent ecological conditions and describes the ecosystems with the potential vegetation. The basic unit of this system is a forest type that represents a set of natural and modified biogeocenoses and their developmental stages, including the environment. It is a unit of a certain span for the growth of trees, its production and recovery, and consequently for the particular species and spatial composition of forests and similarity of economic measures. Application unit of this system is a forest site type complex. This unit connects the forest site types according to the ecological relationship, according to their similarities phytosociological undergrowth. Forest site type complex arise with a combination superstructural units - vegetation zones and edaphic category. The unit represents a natural forest ecosystems and sets belonging to him with regard to natural tree species composition changed geobiocenoses economic forests. Stabilisation of terminology as basic building elements is a step towards profiling the professional disciplines in the field of science. Several sets of forest site type complexes have been identified based on detailed field mapping in the Tusheti region. In the contribution, these forest site type complexes are introduced.
